Gunshot Wound Reported on Soldier's Throat: Investigative Committee Shares Details

Contract soldier Artak Seryozha Avalyan has died from a gunshot wound sustained in the throat. This information has been reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

His body was discovered on May 7 at around 14:00 in the basement of the combat position of military unit N of the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

Following the incident, a criminal proceeding was initiated by the sixth garrison investigative division of the military investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia under Clause 3 of Part 2 of Article 522 of the RA Criminal Code. The investigation has been assigned to a dedicated investigative group.

The scene has been examined, and no signs of violence were found during the external examination of the body.

All soldiers and officers on duty at the combat position have been questioned. A forensic medical examination of the body has also been ordered.

Urgent evidential and procedural actions are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
