Inspection Body Receives Reports of Employers Forcing Employees to Attend Rallies
In light of the information received by the Health and Labor Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia regarding certain employers compelling employees to participate in rallies and gatherings, and threatening to dismiss them for non-participation, the Inspection Body has issued a statement.
According to Article 1 of the RA Labor Code, the code regulates the grounds and procedure for the emergence, modification, and termination of collective and individual labor relations, along with the rights and obligations of the parties to labor relations. Furthermore, Article 3.1 of the Labor Code prohibits discrimination, which is defined as any direct or indirect distinction, exclusion, or restriction based on political beliefs.
“In all cases where the rights of citizens established by labor legislation are violated, and illegal dismissals occur, citizens can contact the Health and Labor Inspection Body at [email protected], via the hotline at 81-07, or through the unified electronic inquiry platform (e-request.am). The provisions of Armenia’s labor legislation are mandatory for all employers, regardless of their organizational-legal form or ownership type. We urge strict adherence to Armenian laws, specifically the provisions of the RA Labor Code,” the statement reads.
