Hackers Breach UK Ministry of Defence Servers
Hackers have breached the servers of the UK Ministry of Defence, stealing data from officials and active military personnel. According to a report by Sky News, which cites sources, UK government representatives are set to make a statement regarding the cyber attack in Parliament on May 7.
At the same time, Sky News clarifies that British authorities do not intend to directly blame China for malicious actions. It has been reported that payroll processing systems have been compromised, granting hackers access to personal information of Ministry of Defence employees, as well as current and former military personnel, including banking details.
The channel noted that an official investigation into the cyber attack has been launched. So far, the British side has no grounds to suggest that there has been widespread unauthorized access to the personal data of military personnel.
