The Announced 'Border Demarcation' Process in Tavush is Secret: Arman Tatoyan

The announced 'border demarcation' in the Tavush region is a gross violation of international requirements, people’s security, and rights. This was stated by former Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan on his Facebook page.

“The law is being adapted and served to politics and political interests. There is no place where the jurisdiction of the border demarcation and border security commission and its members is recorded; the commission's rules only foresee organizational and procedural regulations. The announced 'border demarcation' in Tavush is a gross violation of international requirements, people’s security, and rights. The process is secret and specifically excluded from oversight by legal mechanisms. The government itself declares that a draft regulation for the border demarcation commission does not even exist,” Tatoyan wrote.
