Parts of Berlin, the capital of Germany, were covered in toxic smoke on the afternoon of May 3. Preliminary reports indicate that a strong fire at a factory was the cause. The Berlin fire department announced on its social media that the fire occurred at a metal-technology facility in Lichtenfeld.

According to sources, the fire spread over an area of 2000 square meters. It was noted that chemicals had been present in the burning site.
