Under the Music of the Swan Dance, One Should Not Be Taken but Should Be Forcefully Taken: Aghazaryan
There should be no localization of the issue against the state at the level of a single locality; concerned residents of Yerevan should organize appropriate measures and disseminate their ideas here. They have no right to conduct such actions there; there are serious agreements in place, and acting against them is dangerous.
This was stated by the member of the National Assembly from the "Civil Contract" faction, Hovik Aghazaryan, in an interview with 24News, commenting on the situation where Kiran was surrounded by police.
"The state must apply very firm, but not brutal force. The state is obliged to care for the interests of every Kiran resident, every citizen. One should not be taken under the music of the swan dance, but should be forcefully taken. During that process, one might accidentally poke another in the eye, leading to a slight bruise. We have also been taken and hit on the head with a baton; we are not made of straw, and we haven't died. The police are doing their job," Aghazaryan added.
When asked if he finds the police actions in Kiran acceptable, the deputy stated that he is against the use of brutal force and condemns it, emphasizing that actions should be taken according to legally established methods. However, in his opinion, the police are executing their responsibilities at a high level.
