VIDEO. Gyumri-Yerevan Highway Closed

The Gyumri-Yerevan highway has been blocked by protesters. The video was posted on the Facebook page of opposition MP Mher Melkonyan.

Recall that on April 19, the commissions on border delineation between Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to begin the demarcation starting from the Tavush region. The Armenian Prime Minister's office announced that as a result of this process, Azerbaijan would receive 2.5 villages, while the Republic of Armenia would achieve a reduction in security risks.

After the delineation, armed forces will withdraw from the vicinity of four villages and cede their place to border guard troops. Since April 19, residents of Tavush's border villages have been protesting along the Armenia-Georgia interstate road. They oppose the version of delimitation agreed upon by Yerevan and Baku.
