Today in Yerevan, Several Streets Will Be Closed Until 14:00 for the Annual Marathon Competitions

The Arm Marathon Educational Foundation, in cooperation with the Yerevan Municipality, is set to organize the traditional "Yerevan Marathon" annual running competition on April 28, 2024. The "Yerevan Marathon" has been held since 2018 and is the only 42 km marathon event in the region that is included in the World Championship for Age Group competitions and is certified by the AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races).

The race will kick off on April 28 at 08:00 from S. Shahumyan Square and will continue until 14:30, featuring distances of 42 km, 21 km, 11.5 km, 5 km, and 1 km (children's race). Runners will pass through Republic Square, M. Nalbandyan, Vardanants, Al. Manukyan, Av. Isahakyan streets and the Cascade Complex, continuing their route towards Moskovyan, M. Saryan streets, and then Léo, H. Paronyan, Dzoraqi streets (up to Davtashen Bridge), Hrazdan Gorge, and through the Victory Bridge, finally finishing at the starting line.

The starting area for runners will be open from 07:00. During the event, from 08:00 to 14:00, traffic will be halted in the aforementioned sections, either partially or for the entire duration of the event. It is expected that around 2,000 runners will participate in the event.
