Exclusive Video: Perspectives from All Sides on the Scandalous Teacher Video from Masis N4 School
Reports have emerged on the internet and in the Armenian press regarding the teacher of Armenian language and literature, Areg Vrazyan, from Masis N4 School, who is said to exhibit marked poor treatment towards students. On April 25, Mediahub published a scandalous video, which was replicated by several outlets.
On the same day, Auroranews reached out to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, where we were informed that the workday was ending and that answers to all questions would be provided on April 26. By April 26, we had conversations with both the school principal and the regional administration head, as well as the teacher. Since our interviewees were aware that the conversation was being recorded, we are publishing the discussions in full, without edits.
While we were preparing the report, we received information that teacher Areg Vrazyan had been dismissed from her position by the school principal Narine Barsheghyan. Auroranews also spoke with the law enforcement agency, as the school principal mentioned to us about instances of hitting children. The law enforcement agency informed us that a criminal case had been initiated under Article 195, Part 2, Clause 4 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to physical influence against minors; an investigation is ongoing, and the circumstances are being clarified, with no individuals currently subject to criminal prosecution.
