Alen Simonyan Receives Matviyenko's Letter

The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia has received a letter from the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko. This was reported to the media by the press secretary of the NA Speaker, Nelli Ghulyan.

Recall that yesterday, during a briefing with reporters, NA Speaker Alen Simonyan stated that the NA had not yet received the letter from Valentina Matviyenko, and that they would respond upon receipt.

Earlier, Valentina Matviyenko had instructed to prepare and send an inquiry to the Armenian parliament regarding the statements of Speaker Alen Simonyan, noting, “It was simply shameful for our colleague that he has already crossed all red lines.”

As a reminder, while speaking at the conference of the presidents of parliaments of the EU, Simonyan stated: “The attention of the conference is focused on the issue of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the Middle Eastern conflict. I want to reaffirm that Armenia steadfastly supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as Moldova, Georgia, Cyprus, and all countries.”
