Passenger Sprays Chemical Substance Into Taxi Driver's Eyes in Yerevan, Hospitalized
On April 18, an emergency incident occurred in Yerevan. At around 02:00, the operational management center of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received a call from the National Center for Burns and Dermatology, reporting that an ambulance had transported a citizen with a diagnosis of "chemical burns, first degree, 3 percent in the head and facial area" from near the "Ritzar" hotel on Myasnikyan Avenue.
According to shamshyan.com, an operational group from the Central Division of the RA Police's Ministry of Internal Affairs arrived at the hospital under the guidance of the day's duty officer. Police determined that the citizen hospitalized was 54-year-old Arsen Avagyan from Yerevan, who reported that a passenger had sprayed a chemical substance known as "Aerosol" in his face.
It was also clarified that earlier that day, around 01:00, during an argument related to smoking near the aforementioned hotel, the passenger sprayed tear gas in Avagyan's face while he was in a "Renault" car and then fled the scene. The police are taking necessary operational measures to identify and locate the passenger.
Documents regarding the incident have been prepared by the Central Division of the police and transferred to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia for the Central and Norq Marash administrative districts, where a criminal case has been initiated in connection with the incident.
