NATO Nuclear Facilities in Poland Could Become Targets for Russia, Says Russian Foreign Ministry

If NATO's nuclear facilities are permanently located in Poland, they will become legitimate targets for Russia. This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov.

"The expansion of NATO's joint nuclear missions is purely destabilizing in nature. Movements in this security direction will not add to Poland's security, and relevant facilities will certainly become [legitimate] targets. In our military planning, they will be at the forefront," Ryabkov said in an interview with TASS.

He noted that the approach of the alliance's nuclear forces to Russia's borders exacerbates threats. Therefore, Moscow is closely monitoring the developments regarding the deployment of dangerous facilities for it in Poland. Earlier, Polish leader Andrzej Duda announced that his country is ready to host U.S. nuclear weapons. According to him, this issue has been discussed multiple times with American partners, and he suggested using the Nuclear Sharing system for this purpose.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia would not ignore this issue.
