Aliyev and Putin Discuss Armenian-Azerbaijani Relations: Hajiyev

The Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev, has announced that Baku assesses positively the outcomes of President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Russia. He noted that they also discussed Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.

“During the meeting, the 'North-South' international transport corridor was discussed, and the leaders assigned representatives of their governments to take necessary steps towards the implementation of this project. President Aliyev mentioned that there is a railway connecting Azerbaijan and Russia, but the existing infrastructure needs to be expanded accordingly to accommodate the expected volume of 15 million tons of cargo,” Hajiyev stated.

The leaders also discussed the ongoing negotiations for a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia. President Ilham Aliyev expressed high appreciation for Russia's role and efforts in this area,” added Hajiyev.
