Kremlin Responds to Pashinyan's Statement on Withdrawal of Russian Troops
No signals have been received regarding the withdrawal of the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Armenia. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the President of Russia, in response to a query from URA.RU.
“No signals have been received in this regard. We expect that in the short term, President Putin and Prime Minister Pashinyan will have the opportunity to discuss this and other urgent issues in person,” noted Peskov.
Earlier, Nikol Pashinyan stated that the Russian bases in Tavush have emerged due to a specific situation and that the current events represent a significant change in that situation, which should affect all dimensions.
“This means that we do not have a frontline; we have a border, and the border is a sign of peace, which means that the border guards of Armenia and Azerbaijan will be able to independently ensure the protection of the border through cooperation,” the Prime Minister remarked.
