Kadyrov is Seriously Ill, Report Reveals Potential Successor
The health condition of Chechnya's leader Ramzan Kadyrov does not suggest a full recovery, and the Kremlin has likely already decided on who will be appointed as his successor. This was reported by the Russian opposition publication 'Novaya Gazeta Europe.'
It is mentioned that his successor will be Apti Alaudinov, the commander of Chechnya's 'Akhmat' special forces unit. According to the publication, the individual in question is Kadyrov's loyal ally, Commander Apti Alaudinov of the 'Akhmat' special forces.
On April 16, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Alaudinov as the deputy head of the Main Directorate of Political Affairs of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. According to 'Novaya Gazeta Europe', doctors have diagnosed Kadyrov with necrosis of the pancreas, and it is unlikely he will fully recover.
The authorities of Russia, including those of Chechnya, officially deny reports regarding the deteriorating health condition of the Chechen leader.
