Rescuers Assist Six Lost Citizens

On April 20, at 21:02, a call was received at the crisis management center of the Kotayk regional rescue department, reporting that a six-member hiking group (citizens of Armenia) had descended from Mount Yranos into the Garni Gorge and gotten lost; they were located on the banks of the Azat River, and assistance from rescuers was needed.

A rescue team from the special purpose rescue operations center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations hurried to the scene.

The rescuers helped the six citizens (N. H., born in 2003, A. S., born in 2000, L. A., born in 1998, N. L., born in 1998, S. M., born in 1998, and V. H., born in 2000) cross the river to the opposite bank. They then accompanied them by rescue vehicle for about 10 kilometers to the Symphony of Stones, from where the citizens will continue their journey independently.
