Police Report on Sexual Assault Against 13-Year-Old Girl in Gegharkunik

Two men have been accused of committing sexual acts against a 13-year-old girl in the Gegharkunik region. The information was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to Sputnik Armenia.

“During the conducted verification activities and measures taken, the men were arrested on the basis of reasonable suspicion of having committed the crime. They were taken to the precinct, where they confessed to the offense and were subsequently presented to the investigative department along with related documents,” the police stated.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding the sexual assault against the minor under Article 198, Part 3, Item 2 of the RA Criminal Code. The two individuals have been formally charged and are in custody. One of the men is from Sotk, and the other is from Aknunk.
