Passenger on Flight from Abu Dhabi to Yerevan Shares Details of Hours-Long Nightmare
On April 17, a flight from Abu Dhabi to Yerevan was struck by lightning, causing damage to the cockpit and panic among passengers. A traveler shared their harrowing experience with "News," recounting the ordeal that lasted for hours: "The weather was not good, but the flight was approved. Minutes after takeoff, we started experiencing lightning strikes and constant turbulence. After two hours in the air, we landed at the old airport in Abu Dhabi. Only after landing did we learn that the plane’s cockpit had been damaged."
It is worth noting that the desert city of Dubai has been flooded due to the heaviest rainfall in the UAE in the last 75 years. Over 142 mm of rain fell within 24 hours, inundating highways and homes, disrupting flights at Dubai International Airport, and leading to the cancellation of 45 arriving and departing flights on Tuesday. A video has also been released.
