Coach Verbally Assaults Taekwondo Federation President and Physically Attacks Him at Dynamo Arena

On April 14, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 12:40 PM, operational information was received at the Central Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia that a citizen was transported to the hospital from the Dynamo arena by emergency medical services with a diagnosis of "suspected nasal bone fracture." According to shamshyan.com, police later identified the injured person as 67-year-old Vardan Gh., a resident of Yerevan.

Vardan Gh. reported to the police that at 12:10 PM on April 14, during the weigh-in ceremony of the Armenian Taekwondo Championship held at the Dynamo arena, a coach from Abovyan city, 45-year-old Lernik M., used offensive language directed at him. During a dispute related to the competition, Lernik M. allegedly pushed him to the ground and struck him in the face with his feet, causing bodily harm.

Authorities are taking measures to locate Lernik M. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. According to sources, Vardan Gh. indicated to the police that he is the president of the Armenian Taekwondo Federation.
