Tbilisi Sees Clashes Between Police and Protesters
Clashes are currently taking place in Tbilisi between police and protesters. Protests against the 'Foreign Agents' law have continued today. Local Telegram channels are reporting connectivity issues in many areas of the city.
Earlier, the ruling 'Georgian Dream' party submitted a bill to parliament regarding foreign agents, which sparked mass unrest last March. In the draft law on 'Transparency of Foreign Influence', the term 'foreign agent' has been replaced with 'organization acting in the interests of foreign forces', while the rest of the bill's content remains unchanged.
Frequent protests demanding the withdrawal of the bill have already started in Tbilisi, with demonstrators asserting that the bill is analogous to Russian legislation.
