Emergency Situations Ministry Reports Water Main Accident on Road

A water main accident has occurred on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway. This information has been reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

On April 16, at 09:05, the National Crisis Management Center received reports of an incident at the 23rd kilometer of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway involving the "Novosel'tsovo-Vanadzor" main water pipeline. An operational group from the MES regional rescue unit has been dispatched to the scene.

Rescuers have established a perimeter and are on duty in areas at risk of potential rockfalls. Officers from the police patrol service are ensuring traffic safety in the area. Specialists from the "Veolia Water" company are conducting emergency recovery work on site.

Earlier, it was reported that a water main pipe burst occurred at the 23rd kilometer of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Armenia state border interstate road, and a video of the incident has also been released.
