It Seems Israel Misunderstood This: Statements from Iran's Foreign Ministry

Iran has stated that it did not target economic or civilian objects during its actions against Israel. This was announced by Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. The information is reported by TASS.

“Iran's military operation against Israel yesterday was limited. We did not assault economic or civilian facilities,” the head of the foreign ministry was quoted saying by Al Jazeera.

As the minister noted, the recent attack by Israel on the Iranian consulate in Damascus was a violation of international laws and agreements. “We have shown restraint, but it seems Israel has misunderstood this,” added Amir-Abdollahian.

He expressed discontent that the international community calls on Iran to exercise restraint while turning a blind eye to Israel's crimes.

Iran has informed the U.S. administration that the strike on Israel was limited in nature. This was also disclosed by Amir-Abdollahian.

The minister added that Tehran targeted an Israeli airbase from which F-35 aircraft had conducted flights, specifically those that attacked the Republic’s consulate in Syria on April 1. “The other target of the operation was the Israeli intelligence center which has been directing all operations for the past six months, including the recent attacks against Iran,” the foreign minister stated.

Amir-Abdollahian also declared that Iran does not intend to attack American forces or American bases located in the region. “If we are struck from American bases situated in the region, we will be compelled to retaliate against them,” he specified.
