VIDEO: Iranian Forces Capture Cargo Ship 'Linked to Israel'

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval forces have seized the commercial ship MSC Aries in the Strait of Hormuz. This has been reported by the Iranian IRNA agency.

Previously, the maritime commercial transport coordination center affiliated with the British naval forces informed about an incident in the sea not far from the UAE coast. Iranian forces shelled the MSC Aries container ship, which sails under the Portuguese flag. This vessel is linked to the British company Zodiac Maritime, which is part of the Israeli businessman Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Group.

According to the agency, the seized ship has been sent to Iran's territorial waters. Reports indicate that the ship has 20 Filipino crew members on board, and its cargo was en route to India.

The Strait of Hormuz and the Arabian Sea are key logistical hubs for oil and gas supplies, with oil tankers transporting about one-fifth of the total global consumption of hydrocarbon raw materials through them to markets in Japan, Europe, and the United States.
