Counterfeit $100 Bills Discovered; Fake $800 Cashed
On April 10, police officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan city police, acting on operational information, arrested two young men aged 27 from Ashtarak and 28 from the village of Boujakan near a building on Artsakh Avenue on suspicion of acquiring, possessing, and distributing counterfeit banknotes. They were transported to the Shengavit police division.
The police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reported that during the search, four counterfeit $100 bills were found in the possession of the young man from Ashtarak. According to local sources, it was found that they had cashed fake $800 near one of the trade fairs in the capital on April 8.
It is noted that the documents compiled have been sent to the preliminary investigation body.
