Truck Drivers Fined for Air Pollution

In an effort to reduce dust emissions, the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body conducted extensive monitoring and awareness-raising activities from April 1 to 5 in the capital and surrounding regions. This information was shared by the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body of Armenia (EIMI).

“The drivers of 27 trucks transporting bulk materials such as sand, gravel, and soil without opaque covers have been subjected to administrative penalties amounting to a total of 1.35 million AMD,” the statement noted.

Enhanced inspections aimed at protecting atmospheric air are ongoing.

It was also noted that failure to comply with atmospheric air protection requirements during the transportation of construction materials and waste by vehicles will result in fines of 50,000 AMD for individuals and 150,000 AMD for legal entities. In cases of repeated violations, individuals face fines of 100,000 AMD and legal entities 300,000 AMD.
