Within the framework of the criminal proceedings conducted by the Investigation Committee of the Republic of Armenia in the Yerevan city investigation department for serious crimes, numerous investigative and procedural actions have revealed several details regarding the armed incident that occurred on March 15, 2024, on Fuchik Street in Yerevan.
Specifically, at around 00:14 on March 15, 2024, A.G., along with a still unidentified group of supporters in vehicles including a 'Mercedes-Benz 63AMG', 'Mercedes-Benz CLS 550', and VAZ 21703-110-01, encountered S.S. and his supporters, who arrived in a 'Nissan Altima' and 'BMW 525 I', at the intersection of Fuchik Street and Fuchik 1st Lane. This meeting was to clarify the circumstances of an argument that erupted between their minor children.
According to the evidence obtained in the investigation, A.G. illegally acquired and was in possession of a firearm equipped with 5.45 mm caliber cartridges, showing a blatant disregard for legal and moral norms and causing a public disturbance. He indiscriminately fired shots towards S.S. and his supporters, endangering the lives of individuals present at the scene, residents of nearby residential buildings, and passing bystanders.
Continuing his hooligan actions with the use of a weapon, A.G. attempted to take the firearm from S.S., which was accompanied by random gunfire. At that moment, S.S.'s supporter S.A., who was also armed, approached, along with unidentified individuals who struck A.G. with their hands, feet, and clubs, while S.A. also hit him with the butt of the weapon.
Subsequently, individuals who had arrived with S.A. inflicted blows with their hands, feet, and clubs to various parts of S.S., who was also on the ground. During this time, an unidentified individual, armed with an illegally possessed military grenade, threw it at S.S. with the intent to unlawfully take his life, resulting in injuries to another person present in the area due to the explosion.
Following the explosion of the grenade, those present fled the scene, while the confrontation between A.G. and S.S. continued in front of a car wash located at Fuchik 1st Lane, where law enforcement officers arrived. S.S. and other involved individuals fled, while A.G. was transported to the hospital.
Based on sufficient evidence gathered, A.G. has been charged under part 3 of Article 297 of the RA Criminal Code. He has been remanded in custody as a measure of restraint. It was previously reported that criminal proceedings have also been initiated against S.S. and S.A., and they have been placed on a wanted list. The pre-trial investigation continues.
