VIDEO: "The Author of the Constitution Must Be the People" - Pashinyan
The author of the Constitution should not just be the text, but its content must come from the people. This is stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, in a video.
"The author of the Constitution must be the people. It’s not just about who writes the text, because one person can write it, maybe two, at most three. But the content must come from the people. When we started discussing the Constitution, everyone said this month or next month there would be protests against the adoption of the Constitution, without realizing that we were pursuing a theme to create a Constitution with the people. If you ask me today what should be written in the Constitution or what should not be included, I might have some thoughts. But the Constitution does not exist until it exists in the minds of the people, because if it is not in the minds of the people, how can 700,000 people vote for it? Only in one case, if they consider themselves its owners and authors," he said.
