We Will Evacuate Those Who Refuse to Leave the Danger Zone by Force, Says Orenburg Mayor

The Mayor of Orenburg, Sergey Salmin, has addressed residents of the regions whose homes are located in a flood zone, demanding that "everyone immediately evacuate their homes." Otherwise, residents will be forcibly evacuated.

“Soon we will implement a warning system; please take the signal seriously. We no longer have time to persuade. Those who refuse to leave the danger zone voluntarily will be evacuated by force, with the involvement of police,” the mayor wrote.

It is worth mentioning that over 2,400 residential houses and 3,000 adjacent areas have been flooded in Orsk. The dam protecting the city of Orsk from the Ural River has collapsed. Due to the floods, four people have died.

A state of emergency has been declared throughout the region.
