Avanesyan Questioned by Anti-Corruption Committee in COVID-2019 Criminal Case

The Anti-Corruption Committee has summoned and questioned Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan. Last year, on August 2, we reported that another notification was being prepared, this time to be sent to the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan. She has attended and has been questioned as a witness, and that is all. This was reported by the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd.'

Following Arsen Torosyan, preparations were being made to hear from the current minister Anahit Avanesyan. According to the newspaper's information, after Torosyan's questioning, the investigative body had hit a dead end.

Essentially, that is how it happened. The conclusion of the pre-investigation of the criminal case concerning COVID-2019 will be announced soon.

Let us recall that last year the Anti-Corruption Committee was actively summoning employees of the 'Grigor Lusavorich' medical center for questioning.

So, what criminal case is being discussed? Based on the data obtained during the criminal proceedings, the government of Armenia allocated more than 26 billion AMD for the implementation of 'programs for the prevention, control, and treatment of the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19),' which was entirely funded from the reserve fund of the government of Armenia.

Within the framework of this program, the list of medical organizations providing medical care and services that receive compensation from the state budget for the diagnosis and treatment of the coronavirus disease 'COVID-19' was approved by the order of the Minister of Health of Armenia in 2020, which also included 'Medline Clinic' LLC. The KP faction MP Arsen Torosyan often targets the law enforcement agencies, accusing the prosecution and the investigation of organizing shows.
