VIDEO: Elephant Attacks Tourists' Vehicle, Causing Fatalities and Injuries in Africa

An elephant in Zambia has attacked a vehicle carrying tourists, resulting in the death of an 80-year-old American woman and injuries to five others. This incident was reported by the SHOT Telegram channel.

The extraordinary event took place at the Kafue National Park. The five-ton animal perceived the safari jeep as a threat and decided to charge at it. The elephant pursued the vehicle for several hundred meters, and the driver-guide stopped and attempted to reverse, but became stranded on the road. At that moment, the elephant turned its tusks on the vehicle.

The American woman died on the spot, while one tourist was critically injured and airlifted to the hospital. Four others sustained serious injuries.

Kafue is Africa's second-largest national park. Its management stated that all their safari guides are experienced and well-trained; however, due to this tragic incident, the route for those tourists was blocked, preventing them from escaping the elephant.
