Lavrov States Reasons Behind Western Desire for NATO Aid to Kyiv

Western countries are trying to compel all NATO members to sign a mandatory assistance agreement for Kyiv, as long as it continues its fight against the Russian Federation. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a meeting with foreign ambassadors on the topic of resolution in Ukraine.

“Now they want to turn the voluntary military assistance provided to Ukraine into mandatory military support under NATO's auspices, pushing all NATO members, through strict discipline, to sign off on mandatory funding and weapon provision to the Kyiv regime, just so that Kyiv continues its struggle against the Russian Federation,” said Lavrov.

Since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, foreign states and international organizations have provided over $150.8 billion in assistance to Kyiv.
