Kostanyan Discusses Tomorrow's Armenia-US-EU Meeting

Information regarding tomorrow's meeting is open; I can say that we will discuss Armenia-EU and Armenia-US bilateral cooperation. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan during a briefing with journalists, addressing the upcoming meeting.

"The meeting will largely focus on our economic opportunities and should not be turned into a geopolitical major event," he noted.

According to Kostanyan, the countries that oppose tomorrow's event are creating higher expectations in the media regarding the results of this meeting, which may lead to greater disappointment among the public in the future.

Commenting on Azerbaijani President's statement during a phone call with the US Secretary of State that if the meeting between the Prime Minister of Armenia, the European Commission, and the US Secretary of State is not postponed, it could lead to instability in the region, he stated that such comments are unacceptable.

Kostanyan emphasized that it is Armenia's sovereign right to develop cooperation with partners, including the US and EU. "Those countries or parties that oppose our cooperation in this format are trying to create expectations in the media that are higher than what can be achieved from the results of tomorrow's meeting," Kostanyan remarked.

He added that this is done so that later on, there might be disappointment among the public. "Tomorrow, there will be a significant meeting, the results of which will be announced. The agenda has already been presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting will largely discuss economic and humanitarian issues," the official added.
