Avoiding War with Russia is Necessary, Blinken Says
Julya
The policy of Washington is clear: support Ukraine, but avoid war with Russia. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“From the very beginning, President Biden was convinced of two things. First, that we must do everything possible to support Ukraine because the aggression against Ukraine is not only an aggression against the Ukrainian people and country but against the fundamental principles of the international system. Secondly, Biden has been convinced that it is necessary to avoid war with Russia, to prevent escalation—whether conventional or nuclear. Since then, he has been guiding his actions with great clarity in this direction—supporting Ukraine while avoiding war with Russia,” he said.
