Simonyan Responds to New Accusations from Ukraine's Security Council

The editor-in-chief of RT television, Margarita Simonyan, has commented on a remote statement from the Ukrainian Security Council accusing her of several violations of Ukraine's criminal code, including genocide, encroachment on Ukraine's territorial integrity, propaganda for military operations, as well as justifying, legitimizing, and denying Russia's actions classified in Ukraine as "aggression," and glorifying participants of the special military operation.

"The Ukrainian Security Service reports new accusations against me. Already four articles: genocide, encroachment on Ukraine's territorial integrity, war propaganda, and justifying the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. I have also, allegedly, called for the mass killing of Ukrainian children," Simonyan stated in her message.

She noted that she is being asked about the reasons behind these accusations. "I will respond. 1. To close down my possibilities for traveling around the world, believing that I will suffer as a result. They also believe that all those who support Putin do not come out of the Luzhnikis. Here, there is bad news. The only 'Luzhnikis' where I would be sad not to swim is my native Krasnodar region. 2. By crushing me, they already have justifications in advance. This is something they have tried to do several times already. Killing a journalist, especially a mother of many children, seems incomparable. But if you hang the myth of calls to kill children on her, then it seems to be appealing."
