Most of Russia's Fleet Has Left Crimea, Says Ukrainian Naval Forces

The Russian Black Sea Fleet has nearly entirely abandoned the temporarily occupied Crimea. This statement was made by Captain 3rd Rank, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Naval Forces, Dmitry Pletenchuk.

“The main force in Crimea was considered to be the fleet. Now, it has essentially left Crimea almost in its entirety. I mean that most of the combat units have left, if we consider the missile carriers, and except for one failing ship that has not launched any missiles so far, although it is considered a missile carrier. I am now talking about the ‘Cyclone’,” he said on the ‘We Are Ukraine’ TV channel.

Pletenchuk also emphasized that the main combat units are being rearmed. “It can be said that they have left behind those whom they do not care for, or perhaps those for whom there is simply no space to place them at the Novorossiysk base. Of course, some ships remain, but the most valuable assets have been withdrawn,” he concluded.
