Poaching in Aragatsotn: 26 Birds Killed During Migration of Steppe Grey Partridges
Employees of the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body recorded two cases of poaching during ongoing round-the-clock monitoring aimed at preventing illegal hunting in the Aragatsotn province.
In the territory of the Talin community, during the ban on the hunting season and the migration of the steppe grey partridge, citizens T.H. and A.B. illegally hunted 26 partridges using "MP 155" and "Izh-17" hunting rifles.
As part of the administrative proceedings initiated regarding the incident, the legal weapons belonging to those who committed illegal hunting have been confiscated. The offenders will face administrative liability. Relevant claims will be submitted to the court for the confiscation of the weapons.
According to Article 88.4, Part 3, of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Armenia, illegal hunting in prohibited areas entails fines for citizens ranging from one hundred to two hundred times the established minimum wage, and for officials, from one hundred seventy to two hundred times the minimum wage, along with the confiscation of firearms and hunting equipment belonging to the violators, or other items used to commit such violations, as well as deprivation of hunting rights for a period of 2 to 3 years.
