Perpetrators of Terrorism at Crocus Assigned to Go to Kyiv for Reward, Russian Investigative Committee
Those accused of carrying out a terrorist act at the Crocus City Hall concert venue have reported that their actions were coordinated by a person using a pseudonym through voice messages on Telegram, both during the preparation phase and after the armed attack. This information has been provided by the Investigative Committee.
The terrorists, under the coordinator's instructions, reportedly moved by car towards the Russian-Ukrainian border after committing the crime, with the intention of crossing and reaching Kyiv to receive their promised reward, the Investigative Committee claims.
The investigation continues to verify the involvement of Ukrainian special service representatives in the organization and financing of the terrorism, the Investigative Committee added.
On Thursday, March 28, the committee reported that the investigation has "established information" that the perpetrators of the terrorism at Crocus received "significant amounts of money" and cryptocurrency from Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Monday, March 25, that the terrorist act at Crocus was carried out by radical Islamists but acknowledged that "this atrocity could only be one element by those fighting against our country."
