A Balanced and Considerate Decision: Tunyan

“The medal has two sides. If we do not take any steps regarding the ‘Mir’ payment system and other sanctions, how will it affect us if we do?” said Babken Tunyan, a member of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction, during a parliamentary briefing today, responding to a question about how this decision will impact the economy and residents.

According to Tunyan, in many cases, if the banking system tries to circumvent the sanctions, it will find itself isolated from the world, which will create serious problems. “In my opinion, Armenia is adopting a very balanced and cautious position today, and the decision to prohibit the servicing of ‘Mir’ cards (except for VTB Bank) in banks is a serious, balanced, and all-encompassing decision,” he said.
