«HSC is not fulfilling its obligations to Armenia» – Pashinyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has given an interview to a Greek publication, addressing issues related to regional security, peace, Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations, and the 'Peace Crossroads' project.
Pashinyan also commented on the relationship between official Yerevan and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
“The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), in our assessment, has not fulfilled its obligations to ensure the security of the Republic of Armenia, especially during the years 2021-2022. The practical outcome of this policy of the CSTO is that we have effectively frozen our participation in the organization. As of September 2023, we do not have a permanent representative in the CSTO and are not participating in high-level negotiations of the CSTO. However, we do not block the decisions of the CSTO but also do not participate in them.
Armenia is open to establishing and developing mutually beneficial relations with all partners and has a clear position on the establishment of stable and lasting peace in the region. For this purpose, we are diversifying our relationships around security issues,” Pashinyan stated.
