UN Security Council Adopts Resolution for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza
Moments ago, the UN Security Council approved a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The document was supported by 14 of the 15 members of the Security Council.
The adoption of the resolution became possible after the United States announced that it would not exercise its veto power, opting instead to abstain from the vote.
With the established resolution, the UN Security Council demands to "increase the scale of humanitarian aid deliveries and deepen efforts to protect the civilian population in the Gaza Strip."
