Alarm Situation Inside the Country Last Night: Kocharian
An alarming situation occurred inside the country last night at the New Nork police department of Yerevan. This was stated by the chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Defense and Security, Andranik Kocharian, during a committee meeting.
“Last night, there was an alarming situation in operational terms inside the country. The issue has been liquidated, but it gives us pause for thought, as there is still a lot of weaponry in homes, Mr. Abazyan. No armed and illegal group, as well as hidden weapons, should exist in Armenia. There is an old saying, ‘The gun hanging on the wall will one day fire,’ but those shots should not happen inside our country; we have numerous security issues,” stated Kocharian.
Referring to the fact that, according to reports, the neutralized individual is a participant in the war, he emphasized that this should have no connection with anything else. The representative from the ruling party urged everyone to treat the Yerablur military pantheon with respect and all those who have fought.
Andranik Kocharian assured that demands cannot be placed on the state, and no one will tolerate that; calmness needs to prevail.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the individual who detonated a grenade at the New Nork police station yesterday is a 55-year-old man named A.M. As a result of the explosion, both A.M. and a 51-year-old V.G. sustained injuries and were taken to a medical center.
