Man Arrested for Killing Neighbor and Stabbing Her Daughter

Today, on March 24, stabbings occurred in Yerevan. Around 10:30 AM, the Police Department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information that two citizens had been stabbed in one of the houses on Khoren Khachatryan 1st Lane.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, at the scene, police and patrol officers determined that the two stabbed citizens had been transferred to the 'Armenia' Medical Center. Blood-like traces and a kitchen knife, believed to be the weapon used in the crime, were found at the scene.

Police and investigators have identified the victims as 64-year-old Lilya G. and 33-year-old Anna M., residents of the indicated street. Witnesses at the scene reported that the victims were mother and daughter, and their attacker was a neighbor, Tigran M., who had recently been admitted to the Nubarashen Mental Health Center but, for unknown reasons, had been released by the doctors.

Later, the mother among the injured unfortunately passed away without regaining consciousness. Moments ago, the photographer reported that the suspect, 41-year-old Sargis M., a resident of Yerevan, was arrested in one of the restaurants in Jrvazh.
