Akhmat Fighters to Be Rewarded for Participation in Arrest of Crocus Terrorism Suspects

The soldiers of Chechnya's Akhmat battalion participated in the arrest of suspects involved in the armed attack on the Crocus City Hall, reported Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov on his Telegram channel. He stated that they will be nominated for state awards.

Kadyrov noted that the Akhmat fighters arrived at the suspected location of the terrorists on March 23 at around 3:00 AM Moscow time and "completely combed the area." In addition to Chechen fighters, the operation also involved officers and soldiers from the Russian Armed Forces’ Leningrad Military District, as clarified by the republic's head.

"They successfully completed the task of capturing the murderers alive, despite the risks. No security forces were harmed during the special operation," Kadyrov emphasized.

Earlier, the FSB announced the detention of 11 individuals in connection with the investigation of the armed attack on Crocus City Hall. According to FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov, four of them were direct perpetrators of the terrorism. The FSB asserts that the terrorists had planned to cross the Russian-Ukrainian border and had had "contacts" with the Ukrainian side.
