Russia Is Fighting Against Ordinary People's Lives - Zelensky
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has commented on the massive Russian attack on Ukraine on the morning of March 22. He emphasized that the objectives of the Russian terrorists are very clear to the entire world: they target power plants, energy supply networks, hydroelectric dam facilities, ordinary residential buildings, and even trolleybuses.
The message was published by the president on social media. The head of state stressed that Russia is waging a war against the ordinary lives of people. The president also expressed condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of this terrorism.
"Last night there were more than 60 'Shahed' drones and almost 90 different missiles. The world sees the objectives of the Russian terrorists as clearly as possible: power plants and energy supply lines, hydroelectric dams, ordinary residential buildings, even trolleybuses. Russia is fighting against the ordinary lives of people. I extend my condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this terrorism," the message stated.
According to the president, all necessary services are currently on-site in all cities affected by the attack. Rescuers, energy workers, representatives of regional and local authorities, police, and utility companies are actively providing assistance to residents. The process of restoring electricity supply is ongoing.
Zelensky also addressed the West, emphasizing that the price of delaying and postponing decisions regarding weapons supply to Ukraine is the lives of innocent civilians. "Russian missiles do not have delays, just like our state’s aid packages. 'Shaheds' do not have indecision, unlike some politicians. It is important to understand the cost of delays and postponed decisions. 'Patriot' systems must protect Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia; air defense is necessary to protect people, infrastructure, homes, and dams. Partners clearly know what is needed. They can surely support. These solutions are necessary. Lives must be protected from these inhumane acts from Moscow," the leader's message stated.
According to information received from the Air Force Command, on the night of March 22, 2024, the opponent launched a missile-aviation combined attack on critical infrastructure objects in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 92 aerial enemy targets, including 55 'Shaheds' and 37 enemy missiles. In total, the enemy used 151 means of aerial attack. As a result of air defense operations, 92 aerial targets were destroyed.
