The inspectors of the Regional Center of the State Food Safety Inspection Body of the Lori Province conducted an inspection at the cheese factory owned by individual entrepreneur Ashot Ghumashyan and found that the factory was operating with gross violations of sanitary and hygienic norms (Lori Province, village of Antarashen).

Specifically:

  • The construction and arrangement of the production facility did not ensure the flow of technological functions that exclude cross-contamination between food raw materials and products, contaminated and clean items.
  • The equipment and items used in the production process, particularly the milk reception basin, pasteurizer, brine basins for cheese, and the table intended for cheese formation, were not maintained in a clean and repaired condition, and were subject to corrosion.
  • The factory did not separate the areas for receiving and storing raw materials, carrying out technological processes, and packaging and storing finished products; all processes were carried out in a single area.
  • The wall surfaces were not made of waterproof, washable, and disinfectable materials, and there were traces of mold present.
  • The ceiling was not kept clean and repaired, leading to the accumulation of dirt and moisture condensation.
  • The entrance door opened directly into the production area.

The production activities of the cheese factory have been suspended, and a deadline has been set for correcting the violations.
