Only 15 Percent of Candidates Reach Interview Stage in Three-Phase School Director Appointment Examination, Says Minister
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, presented the 2023 activity report to the parliamentary standing committee, noting that during the three-phase appointment examination for school directors, approximately 85 percent of candidate development programs do not receive a positive evaluation. This means that only about 15 percent of candidates reach the interview stage, and of those, 63 percent do not pass the interview.
Minister Andreasyan stated that this is currently a "diagnosis of the education system." She emphasized, "We aim to implement a separate program for training in the sector, which will help our directors and candidates to better prepare, to have a clearer understanding of the education management process, because it is evident that the quality we want to ensure in schools cannot be achieved with this resource."
