Zhanna Andreasian Promises to Address Concerns of Protesting Scientists
The Minister assured us that she would be attentive to this issue and would respond to us as soon as possible. The matter is still under discussion; she stated that she wants to familiarize herself with the issue more deeply. This was reported today, March 21, by Robert Hakobyan, Deputy Director of the Institute of Fine Organic Chemistry, after a meeting between the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and the protesters at the ministry.
It is worth recalling that today, March 21, employees of the Institute of Fine Organic Chemistry began a protest near the Government building, demanding a meeting with the competent authorities. They are protesting against the illegal appropriation of a reservoir belonging to the institute years ago, and now residential buildings are being constructed in the area of the reservoir. The construction noise interferes with the work of the institute. The government directed them to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, clarifying that the issue falls within the jurisdiction of that ministry.
It should also be noted that just days ago, on March 15, employees of the Scientific and Technological Center of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry blocked a road near their center on Freedom Avenue. They again demanded a halt to the construction taking place near the center, as they cannot work under these conditions.
