Ukraine May Fall Very Quickly: Macron
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Ukraine's collapse may happen very soon. This was reported by the European edition of Politico, citing its sources. The information was relayed by TASS.
According to him, Macron hosted a political event at the Élysée Palace the day before, where the upcoming European Parliament elections were also discussed. “Ukraine may fall very quickly,” Macron said during the event, according to a participant in the meeting who spoke with the publication.
Earlier, during a press conference with Czech President Petr Pavel, Macron stated that European countries should not impose restrictions on themselves when discussing assistance to Ukraine to prevent the spread of defeatist sentiments. In this context, Macron emphasized the importance of providing military assistance to Ukraine and backed the Czech initiative to purchase artillery shells from third countries outside the European Union.
Following a conference dedicated to Ukraine, held in Paris on February 26, Macron did not unequivocally rule out the possibility of sending ground forces from Western countries to the special military operation zone. The French president also declared that Western states are “determined to do whatever is necessary” to ensure that Russia does not win in this conflict.
In an interview with Le Parisien on March 17, Macron stated that at a certain point, it may be necessary to carry out ground operations to “counter Russian forces in Ukraine.”
