Rockfall in Tavush: House Access Road Closed

On March 20, at 18:00, the crisis management center of the Tavush regional rescue service received a report about a rockfall near one of the houses on 13th Street in Tavush village. A firefighting and rescue unit from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.

It was determined that a rockfall had occurred from the slope adjacent to one of the houses, with a total volume of about 20 cubic meters. The access road to the house, approximately 10 meters long and 4 meters wide, has been blocked, but there are no reported injuries.

Special equipment is required to clear the road. Rescuers have delineated the area and conducted controlled rockfall operations to remove unstable rock fragments from the hazardous section of the slope, with a volume of about 1 cubic meter.

With the assistance of the Berd municipality and engineering equipment, the rock fragments have been removed from the road section.
