Dani Alves Released on €1 Million Bail
The Spanish court has released footballer Dani Alves on bail for €1 million, who was convicted of rape and sentenced to imprisonment.
The decision to release the athlete on bail was made by the Barcelona court, according to Marca. The bail amount has been set at one million euros.
Alves will remain free as long as all appeals are pending. If his conviction is upheld, he will return to prison.
Dani Alves is one of the most well-known Brazilian footballers of the past decade. On February 22, the first-instance court sentenced the athlete to four and a half years in prison and ordered him to compensate the victim with €150,000.
Dani Alves has been in detention since January 2023, having been arrested immediately after the charges were filed.
